Signing on air October 15, 1949, KOTV / News on 6 became the first television station in Tulsa, OK and one of only 90 in the country. Today, KOTV broadcasts from the state of the art Griffin Communications building in the heart of Tulsa’s Brady Arts District and holds the distinction of another industry first: An HPGX geothermal system for the entire 57,000 square foot, cooling dominate facility. The building is located in a space constrained, metropolitan area which excluded the option of common polyethylene based geothermal. Because the Rygan system only utilizes 32 HPGX wells at 500ft. depth, the well field required less than a half acre footprint with no cooling tower or boiler backup.
